Private Tennis Lessons with George Ross

1:1 or 2:1 Sessions for Middle School Students and Above
Held at Michael Hall – Outside of School Hours
(Please enquire for availability)

Offered by RossTennis Coaching, these private lessons with George Ross – Head Coach at Forest Row Tennis Club – provide a warm, student-centered approach to learning tennis, right here on the grounds of Michael Hall.

Values of Steiner Waldorf education, these sessions focus not just on technique and physical development, but on nurturing a genuine love for the game, fostering confidence, and encouraging a balanced sense of self.

With a thoughtful and experienced approach, George meets each student where they are – offering guidance, encouragement, and gentle challenge in a calm and respectful learning environment. The aim is to support whole-person development through movement, rhythm, and meaningful practice.

What the Sessions Offer:

  • 🎾 Individually tailored coaching in a supportive and relaxed setting

  • 👣 Development of movement, balance, coordination, and awareness – aligned with Steiner principles of child development

  • 🧠 Exploration of rhythm, timing, and spatial awareness through tennis

  • 🌱 A gentle focus on personal growth, effort, and joy in learning – rather than competition

  • 💬 Space for self-reflection, mindful practice, and confidence-building through steady progression

Got questions?
Check out the questions we get asked a lot by those attending our sessions. If you can't find the answer then get in touch with us.

You can find the address of all our locations by visiting our locations page here.

Don't forget to bring your tennis racket, packed lunch, water bottle, hat, suncream, and waterproofs.

In the event of very poor weather conditions or extreme heat, a coached tennis session may be cancelled. The decision on whether to cancel a session for health and safety reasons will be taken by the Coach responsible for that session.

Most sessions will go ahead in poor weather. Please assume in the first instance that all sessions will go ahead and bring suitable waterproof or cold weather clothes for the conditions.

If the Coach decides that a session needs to be cancelled before the session begins, or before 20 minutes into the session, this session will be credited or refunded (unless it is a holiday camp). If at least 20 minutes of the session is coached then no refund or credit can be claimed. Sometimes, decisions will be taken last minute, as the weather is so changeable. While we are always keen for sessions to go ahead, please respect that the health and safety of our players and coaches is our first consideration.

Please note that holiday camps will not be cancelled in the event of bad weather. If it is not possible to play outside because of weather conditions, children will undertake indoor activities. No refunds will be given for bad weather in the case of holiday camps.
