The Friday Lunchtime Tennis Classes at Forest Row Tennis Club, running from 11:45am -1:00pm, offer an excellent opportunity for players to refine their skills and enjoy the game in a friendly and supportive environment.

Led by Coach George Ross, these sessions are designed for improver-level players who are looking to build confidence, improve their technique, and develop tactical awareness on the court. Whether you're working on your serve, perfecting your volleys, or sharpening your match play strategies, Coach George provides expert guidance tailored to each player's needs.

Holmewood House Parent Morning - (intermediate) Autumn Term 2025

A fantastic way to start your morning at Holmewood House Parents morning. Sessions are hosted by fully qualified LTA professional licensed coach George Ross. These sessions are designed to be fun and social, providing a great opportunity to make new friends while improving your tennis abilities and skills. Throughout the sessions, you will learn new skills, stay fit, play lots of tennis based games and understand tactics for singles and doubles match play, and have the chance to meet new friends and socialize. Every week, a group coached session is held, focusing on plenty of instruction with an emphasis on the "Social" and "Matchplay" aspects of tennis.

With years of coaching experience and a passion for nurturing young talent, Coach George focuses on improving technique, building confidence, and fostering a love for the game. The lessons include:

Open to all abilities from an able Year 2 up to Year 8, this club offers a fun, energetic, and structured early-morning activity that helps children wake up, get moving, and feel ready to learn.

The location of the lessons depend on the weather. We will try and be outside as the Tennis courts are the best place for the lessons. However if the weather is against us we will go to the sports hall.

These sessions are designed to be fun and social, providing a great opportunity to make new friends while improving your tennis abilities and skills. Throughout the sessions, you will learn new skills, stay fit, play lots of tennis based games and understand tactics for singles and doubles match play, and have the chance to meet new friends and socialize. Every week, a group coached session is held, focusing on plenty of instruction with an emphasis on the "Social" and "Matchplay" aspects of tennis.

If you consider yourself a beginner or improver, the Rusty Rackets Tuesday morning class from 8:30–9:30 AM with Coach Ellen Cramer would be the best fit.
If you are more of an intermediate or advanced player, then the 8:30–9:45 AM class with Coach George Ross would be the most suitable option.

This structured training programme is designed for intermediate club players looking to develop their game and take the next step. Led by LTA Accredited Coach George Ross, sessions provide a supportive yet challenging environment focused on improving technique, match awareness, and overall on-court confidence.

You’ll work on developing reliable strokes, smarter point construction, and better decision-making in match situations, while improving movement and fitness specific to tennis.

🎾 What You’ll Work On:

  • Improving consistency and shot selection

  • Developing stronger rally tolerance and court positioning

  • Understanding patterns of play and point construction

  • Transitioning forward and finishing points at the net

  • Matchplay drills, live ball exercises & tennis-specific conditioning

Lingfield College Prep (Summer Term 2026 )

We are pleased to confirm that tennis sessions for the Lingfield College Prep Summer Term will take place on:

Thursdays, 3:45–4:45pm

Sessions will be held outdoors on the tennis courts in good weather, and indoors in the sports hall if required, ensuring continuity whatever the conditions.

These sessions are designed to be fun, engaging, and suitable for all ability levels, helping pupils develop their skills, confidence, and enjoyment of the game.

 Values of Steiner Waldorf education, these sessions focus not just on technique and physical development, but on nurturing a genuine love for the game, fostering confidence, and encouraging a balanced sense of self.

With a thoughtful and experienced approach, George meets each student where they are – offering guidance, encouragement, and gentle challenge in a calm and respectful learning environment. The aim is to support whole-person development through movement, rhythm, and meaningful practice.
